A primary school in Oldham is the first in Greater Manchester to shut completely after confirmed Covid cases.
Horton Mill Primary School in Glodwick has closed to all pupils after positive cases involving pupils and staff in several year groups.
The exact number of cases has not been confirmed – other than to say it’s ‘a small number’ – and Oldham Council says this level of detail cannot be disclosed because of patient confidentiality.

Another 21 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in and around Bristol in the latest daily figures.
Public Health England has today (September 19) announced case rises in every local authority area of the Bristol region.
