Key workers including teachers, police officers and retail staff are likely to be first in line for the Covid-19 vaccine once the most vulnerable and elderly Britons have been protected, a minister has confirmed.
Vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi told the Commons science committee that the second phase of the roll-out, from late spring onwards, was likely to prioritise those who are most at risk of infection from coronavirus, regardless of whether they are particularly vulnerable to serious illness.
