Three vegetable pickers including one with coronavirus have fled a farm where the entire workforce was placed under quarantine.
An urgent search has been launched after the workers defied a lockdown at AS Green and Co farm in Mathon, Herefordshire, and left over the weekend.
All 220 workers at the farm had been told to isolate after more than 70 workers tested positive for Covid-19. Health officials had indicated that the outbreak was contained and stressed that it was not unexpected given the trend of infections in large food producers, but admitted yesterday that three workers had left the site.

New testing measures for taxi and private hire drivers are being rolled out in Liverpool as part of the battle to stamp out the city’s virus spike.
Liverpool City Council has just announced that any Hackney or private hire drivers in the city can now get a coronavirus test – whether they have symptoms or not.
