Heartless vandals have trashed a plaque paying tribute to NHS and WW2 hero Captain Sir Tom Moore just days after it was unveiled.
The plaque was part of a memorial which also paid tribute to 703 Stoke-on-Trent residents who lost their lives to coronavirus.
Captain Sir Tom captured the hearts of the nation during the first lockdown by walking laps of his garden and raising more than £32million for the NHS.
